new softies

They have been a long time coming but are finally here!

Three little pink bunnies ready for the shop.

They are made from a lovely wool/cashmere dress from French Connection. A brave colour to wear, suits these bunnies though!

happy weekend

I have been on a bit of a blogging hiatus. A result of work picking up a notch, I will (hopefully) have more time in a couple of weeks, when I go part time (whoohoo!).

I have had some time to sew, and will upload some cute little pink toys in the shop over the next few days.

I have also started working on a set of 'bad bears'. Softies with attitude. Watch this space.

Here in the UK it's a long weekend, so we are planning some walks, some Thai food tonight with friends, to be followed by some relaxing and maybe even a BBQ if the English weather allows.

Happy weekend everyone!

new paths

How was your Easter?

Mine was action packed. We managed to do all the things we planned, including a gorgeous walk up and down hills and through rape fields.

This week I have done something adventurous and life changing. I have handed in my notice at work, and will finish on the 11th of May.

We have been talking about starting up our own graphic design business for over a year now, so not incredibly spontaneous, but necessary for my sanity!

So. . . exciting times ahead, hopefully the end to the disillusioned designer, and the birth of a new creative one!

Happy Easter

Lots of new sets of home made greetings cards are making their debut in the shop this week.

I will be adding sets once a day after Easter. The cards are handmade, and lots of fun to put together, although not specifically for children and babies, there are also some for Weddings, Christenings, New homes etc.

Meanwhile, Easter promises bike rides/chocolate/thai food/wine/camping. . . and hopefully some sewing - yay!

Hope you have a lovely Easter too!

village scene 1

As a result of my 9 to 5.30, or 7pm job (at the moment), invading my usual relaxing, toy-making time, there is an absence of any works in progress, and nothing fun or exciting to report on that front.

So, I am going to start posting a weekly scene from around my village.

I have always been a bit of a city slicker, but am now a country bumpkin well and truly. In our village we have a post office, shop, newsagent, a hairdresser and beauty therapist. I love the fact that we can get on our bikes, or put on our boots and be beside a river, looking at a sky full of stars, or buying some home made cakes from the farm shop down the road. Its lovely.

Three bears

This is one of three little bears going in my shop today.
Kobi, Kima and Lotty.
Named after three lovely tactile rugs I am coveting for the front room! Soft and chunky just like my bears! I know its spring and the weather is lending itself to rugless rooms, but I have been wanting one for months, and think our front room will be so cosy for it.

Recommended viewing whilst sewing, Open Season, cute rabbits and lots of inspiration for softies!
